Overview

Under the direction of the Retail Operations Manager, the District Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial performance of their assigned district through merchandise, inventory, expense control, human resources management, and managing operating costs.

This position will have direct supervision over the Area Leader / Store Manager roles.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Performance : Build and grow sales in assigned market.
  • Human Resources : Hire, staff, train, and develop Area Leaders / Store Managers to drive store performance. Ensure they have the tools and knowledge to be successful.

In partnership with the Corporate HR Business Partner, coach and advise Area Leaders / Store Managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

Building and Equipment Maintenance : Conduct frequent audits of preventive maintenance tasks and report equipment and building maintenance issues, escalating significant issues to Facilities Manager;

troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs; dispatch vendors to resolve maintenance issues, as needed.

Customer Service and Satisfaction : Ensure that all policies, procedures, and employee functions are consistently being followed, contributing to the highest level of customer satisfaction and growth of store.

Collaborates with Retail Marketing to respond to and investigate social media and website comments.

Store Safety and Security : Supports the Area Leaders / Store Managers maintain a safe environment inside and outside of the store by following proper security procedures and prioritizing employee and customer safety.

Audits during monthly store visits.

  • Store Cleanliness and Upkeep : Supports the Area Leaders / Store Managers to ensure that the highest level of cleanliness is always maintained inside and outside of the store through frequent audits.
  • Retail : Ensure each store always maintains a good visual presentation of retail products; keeps sufficient assortment and inventory levels.

Support Area Leaders / Store Managers in training of employees in processing sales and upselling to customers.

Wash / Dry / Fold : Ensure the quality of product meets policies and guidelines. Supports the Area Leaders / Store Managers to achieve results.

Assists in addressing escalated customer concerns, issues and claims in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Cash / Office Accountability : Accurately and honestly reports all monies and store information; immediately notifies and reports any discrepancies to Retail Operations Manager.

Investigate and report all discrepancies and ensures that all safety rules and policies are being followed.

  • Marketing and Promotions : Communicates and follows up on execution of marketing activities in the assigned market. Ensure Store Managers are properly executing marketing programs.
  • Policies and Procedures : Communicate policies and procedures that will streamline and advance store operations. Support Store Mangers to ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Financials : . Communicate a snapshot of financial results to each Area Leader / Store Manager on a regular basis; develop their financial and business acumen by helping them to connect actions with results.
  • Reporting and Audits : Complete audit of in-store documentation related to machines and maintenance, money and card control, safety, etc.
  • Be active in investor development : Provide store tours to potential investors and / or franchisees. Facilitate operations training for franchisees.

Qualifications

Education & Experience :

  • High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years multi-unit or big box retail management experience, including P&L responsibility. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of commercial laundry products and payment systems is a plus.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and developing employees and peers to achieve operational objectives.

  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service, react appropriately under pressure, and apply good judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, manage budgets, and control inventory.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, including exposure to Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Effectively manage and direct the work of others, champion change, and have a passion for training and developing your team.

Travel :

  • Frequent travel within the assigned market is required.
  • Ability to travel overnight within assigned market.

Standard and Physical Requirements :

  • Position involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing and manual dexterity.
  • Position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. For greater weight items assistive devices will be provided.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting;

close vision and ability to adjust

  • Must have a valid driver’s license. A company vehicle may be provided.
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
