Position Overview :
We are seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will design and maintain electrical control systems and PLC logic for our engineered-to-order machinery.
Primary Responsibilities :
Design and review electrical control systems for all product lines.
Prepare schematic wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
Develop PLC logic programs for heat transfer equipment.
Select components to meet customer specifications and code requirements.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, and CSA codes.
Confirm practical fabrication with shop assemblers.
Maintain UL files and records.
Provide troubleshooting assistance remotely or on-site.
Write technical documents and operating instructions.
Assist other departments in developing new products, improving processes, and reducing scrap.
Develop alternative solutions for control systems.
Mentor and train field service personnel and junior engineers.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
2 years of experience with PLC programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).
3-5 years of electrical engineering experience.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
Experience with heat transfer equipment desired.
Knowledge of ASME Section VIII codes and standards is preferred.
