Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, ideal for individuals looking to make a significant impact in the industry.

Responsibilities

Accurately perform all aspects of the bookkeeping process, including accounts payable and receivable.

Conduct regular bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for data entry and to maintain accurate financial records.

Process payroll accurately and efficiently.

Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.

Maintain accurate customer credit records and take appropriate action when necessary.

Handle additional bookkeeping and accounting tasks as needed.

Use your knowledge of Account Reconciliation to ensure all financial records are accurate.

Participate in the creation of lead assignments to the field.

Assist with some HR responsibilities as needed. Requirements - Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a bookkeeping role

Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

Experience in Bank Reconciliations is required

Prior experience in Bookkeeping is essential

Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently

High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience in executing Month End Close processes

Must be able to manage Payroll effectively

Proficient in QuickBooks for managing financial records

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and organizational skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Relevant certification or degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
