Qualifications
Minimum Education and ExperienceCandidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible and will require a NJ medical license, CDS and DEA.
Certifications / Licenses Minimum Qualifications and Experience :
- Valid New Jersey Medical License is required.
- CDS / DEA are required.
- Board certified or board eligible in specialty area.
- Fellowship trained as appropriate.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Teach students, residents and fellows in the clinical setting.
- Participate in educational activities within the Division and the Department of Anesthesiology.
- Conduct a clinical practice of the highest standard of professionalism and accordance with established benchmarks for quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Maintain clinical productivity by full participation in Division clinical workload, including night and weekend call, and in accordance with established productivity benchmarks.
- Ensure timely billing and documentation for clinical services provided.
- Engage in review of outcomes for length of stay, performance metrics, protocol compliance, and adverse events.
- Maintain NJ licensure, full privileges at RWJUH, and Board Certification Eligible status.
- Maintain open lines of effective communication with administrative and clinical leadership at Rutgers RWJMS and RWJUH.
- Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia.
- Relief and prevention of pain during and following surgical, obstetric, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
- Monitoring and maintenance of normal physiology during the perioperative period.
- Management and Teaching of critically ill patients.
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and cancer related pain.
- Clinical management and teaching of cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation.
- Evaluation of respiratory function and application of respiratory therapy.
- Conduct clinical, translational, and basic science research.
- Supervision, teaching, and evaluation of performance of personnel, both medical and paramedical involved in perioperative care.
- Administrative involvement in multidisciplinary committees such as performance improvement and others as deemed appropriate.
- Possess knowledge, judgment, adaptability, clinical skills, technical facility and personal characteristics sufficient to carry out the entire scope of anesthesiology practice.
- Resident and fellow education in peri procedural areas.
- Educational activities including didactic session and lectures.
- Participate in the recruitment of faculty, fellows and staff to the Division.
- Display outstanding citizenship : timely communication, meeting attendance, chart completion, teaching expectations and participation in hospital and university committees.
- Deliver quality anesthesia to all patients as assigned.
