Operating a plastic molding injection press. May perform assembly duties as necessary. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Operate within the standard operating procedures (SOPs) & Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) 1.
Operating a Plastic Injection Mold Press 2. Start of shift, get your assigned Press# (location foreman desk) 3. Pickup & take form (HC4120) Production / Visual Awareness / Scrap to assigned press 4.
Get box labels from shift Quality Inspector (may require assembly of boxes) 5. Report to your work station on time (The 15 mins overlap) is to make sure the area is clean & talk with the previous shift operator about any problems or special instructions.
6. Check Visual Board & Operator Instructions 7. Verify part # on labels to operator instructions. Immediately notify QC if part# does not match.
8. Take over operation of press 9. Check each part for bad appearances, flash & shorts, then package only good parts 10.
Notify QC & / or Foreman for all changes to parts immediately. Put the bad parts in a separate box. 11. Make sure all parts are packaged correctly.
12. Communicate all problems & / or issues before going on break / lunch to the relief operator. 13. Keep the press running at its set cycle;
do not leave the press open. 14. Complete record production form HC-4120 total production parts & scrap are recorded 15.
Clean & maintain your work area throughout your shift 16. Other duties as assigned ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist production and QC in rework area on a as needed basis.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally required through a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating machinery. 3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required. 4. Experience or without experience (will train) WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Work involves lifting materials and product up to 50 lbs. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to;
eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes, jewelry, open toed or backless shoes, cell phones, or visible iPods are not permitted on production floor, assembly room & restricted areas.
