IT Enterprise Architecture

We are looking for a Technical Architect (TA) with insurance expertise within department IT Enterprise Architecture. The technical architect is accountable for proactively leading Insurance Platforms driven technology transformation activities and driving targeted business outcomes.

The Technical Architect supports initiatives and harmonization efforts transforming Insurance Platforms driven local legacy processes / systems into central and group wide platforms.

Technical Architects provide the technical leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required for the transformation of business Insurance capabilities and corresponding application portfolio / tech stack.

They create deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (transformation roadmaps and standards, guidelines) across the enterprise, in order to enable business strategy and successfully deliver projects.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who will help advance the directives of the organization around simplification, and modernization of our technology stacks by providing architectural leadership in the implementation of our enterprise integration core component and its associated data strategy.

Your Job :

  • Interacting with C level executives in our Business and IT communities to understand business strategies and provide technology consulting and guidance to meet strategic goals
  • Championing technology improvements and standardization of Application Portfolio for global re-insurance and North American P&C organizations.
  • Assessing the current IT landscape and recommending options to mitigate technology risks, support business growth / maintenance, optimization, and alignment with IT policies and standards
  • Creating roadmaps to meet the defined target architecture, including active participation in the setup of transformation projects, (such as TCOs and ROIs) working closely with Business Partners, IT Business Solutions, and technology architects
  • Identifying the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures) and financial impact of changes in the application portfolio and enterprise technology stack
  • Reducing technical complexity and the application footprint by working with peers (e.g., enterprise, business, IT architects) to analyze Business needs and change requirements to determine desired future-state outcomes
  • Actively contributing to the Architecture Review Board and Solution Design forum at Munich Re; assisting in improving overall Architecture governance and compliance policies
  • Identifying vendors, methodologies and platforms for reliable, serviceable and highly available applications
  • Drive standardization through technology standards, guidelines and principles across different entities
  • Collaborate with the Business Solutions team and other Technology Architects and support Enterprise Data Architects on various projects and implementations
  • Identify technology related customer pain points by mapping existing technologies to business capabilities, utilize EA established standard practices and participate in R&D activities to identify and create strategies to alleviate these pain points
  • Enable IT development and infrastructure teams to make smart choices through technology strategies, frameworks, standards and by working with technical & solution architecture teams.
  • Identify technical risk and vulnerabilities in the IT environment that will delay impending projects or lead to post release defects

Your Profile :

  • 7 + years of experience in Enterprise Architecture / Technical Architecture and a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business
  • Prior experience working with technologies like Dynamics 365, Adobe Experience Manager, Microsoft Power Platforms, Azure Data Services, Amazon Data Services, B2C platforms, PaaS and SaaS
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering enterprise transformation projects (e.g. Customer 360, Customer Insight, User Defined Applications) in a complex financial services environment;
  • 5+ years of insurance / re-insurance experience, and resulting knowledge that cuts across the business value chain. Practical experience in the Life & Health, P&C, or related business segments is highly desirable.
  • Experience enabling cloud native development or migrations from on-premise hosting is highly desirable, including but not limited to hyperscaler, Azure or AWS.
  • Demonstrated structured architectural analysis capabilities, including :
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable new business designs and models
  • Analytical capabilities coupled with the ability to present complex situations in a clear and precise way, including with an executive audience
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and organizational skills with a focus on constructive engagement and collaboration
  • Solid business knowledge and advanced knowledge of financial systems, corporate services systems, back office systems, data management & warehousing and business intelligence & AI technology and industry products and processes
  • Strong problem solving skills, unquestioned integrity as well as team work, collaboration and relationship management capabilities
  • A great sense of passion towards innovation, continuous improvement, growth and change management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • A high sense of ownership and accountability as well as immense pride in your work
