Quality Engineering Intern

The Quality Engineering Intern will assist the Quality Engineering team to ensure that production and process control activities adhere to our quality system and comply with international standards governing medical device manufacturing and distribution.

Position open to local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in conducting quality audits, inspections, and process validations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments and root cause analyses.
  • Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Assist in maintaining quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Learn and apply medical device safety standards to ensure product compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality.
  • Gain exposure to risk management, design control, and usability engineering processes.

Qualifications :

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Biomedical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Knowledge of quality tools (8D, Statistics, 5-Why) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 13485, FDA QSR) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

This is a paid internship position with the potential to convert to a full-time position depending on business needs and the intern's performance.

The Quality Engineering Intern will report to the Quality Engineering Manager.

Pay range for this position is $20-24 / hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors such as skills, qualifications and experience.

Schedule : M-F, 40 hours per week for the summer and flexible, part-time hours during the school year.
