Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :
- Maintain accountability of all construction as-built deliverables and capitalization into the Installation Geospatial database and AutoCAD Installation drawing.
- SP shall development and management of specialized engineering surveys, studies, and programs used to assess and manage all infrastructure systems, including support of others doing work for the Government.
- Update facility and infrastructure systems changes to as-built drawings in RP NexGen-IT, within 60 calendar days after acceptance of the DD Form 1354, Transfer and Acceptance of DoD Real Property.
- Comply with all applicable and most current OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DoD, AF, federal, state, and local codes, and requirements as well as HHQs standards to include CAD / BIM Technology Center A / E / C CAD, Spatial Data Standards Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) standard for Computer Aided Design and Drafting / Geographical Information System (CADD / GIS).
- Validate that site approval, applicable environmental documentation, and other required documentation have been coordinated and approved.
- Complete minor design when it is estimated to be less than twenty (20) manhours of design labor, this includes simple like kind replacement projects and simple projects that use standardized industry specifications.
The Government maintains the option to fund additional manhours utilizing Maxwell Facility Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) funds.
- Provide support and recommendations on pros and cons of design accomplishment choices.
- Provide accurate project documentation to the design agent that includes programmed, non-programmed (pop-up), and emergency-programmed mission requirements based on government approved prioritization listing.
- Ensure all off base construction documents must bear the seal and signature of a registered engineer and / or architect of record and the firm’s seal per State of Alabama.
- Provide and manage a design review and project requirements process.
- Schedule and host design charrettes and follow-on design reviews when required.
- Coordinate and document complete design process with government CE representative, the customer, and all other applicable base organizations, using agencies, associated groups, and external organizations to further refine and coordinate project requirements and criteria identified during project programming.
- Forward review drawings / specifications to base agencies and user for review.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineer or five (5) year Professional Bachelor or master’s degree in architecture from an ABET / NCARB Accredited University and registered as set forth by the Statutes regulating Professional Architects / Engineers in the state of Alabama
- Minimum ten (10) years. experience as a registered professional engineer / architect, with at least five (5) yrs. experience in facilities management, and operations maintenance experience.
- Completion of WENG 400, 519; WMGT 322 and 423; and WTSS 200.
- Minimum of two (2) years of public / governmental organizations supervisory experience.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Shall be present on base during normal duty hours and available for after-hour responses.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification / common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and / or drug testing required on the contract.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
