L.L.Bean is seeking a Windows Server Engineer to be a key team member that has experience and skill in supporting Windows platforms, conducting system software research, engineering implementation and maintenance in support of business initiatives.

This resource will perform as the systems matter expert, providing Windows and Macintosh system skills with a strong emphasis on virtualization and migration.

Responsibilities include the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of common applications environments on behalf of our customers.

The Engineer will function in both implementation and support stages and will provide services in a variety of areas including, but not limited to : system architecture & design, system administration, security, and networking.

This is a hybrid position located at our corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine , working some days from home and some days onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support and technical expertise regarding integrating new and existing Windows technology into enterprise IT systems design and architecture
  • Interface with internal customer and third-party teams for configuration, integration and deployment activities
  • Manage Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, and application migrations
  • Develop and implement best practices and engineering standards for Windows and Macintosh Server configuration and optimization
  • Provide administration support for Windows Servers
  • Provide Windows Server platform problem resolution including providing support for Windows related issues

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communicator. Enjoys working with internal and external clients.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Ansible, SCOM, SCCM and JAMF
  • PowerShell and VB Scripting knowledge and experience
  • Hardware : Blade and rack-mounted Servers
  • Experience with Nutanix Server Hardware a plus
  • Experience installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining Windows Server Operating Systems and 64-bit versions of Windows Server Operating System;

VMware vSphere hypervisor

  • Experience analyzing server hardware and application components and implementing server migration and consolidation activities
  • Designing and leveraging automated server and application installation
  • Deploying and supporting Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Using WINS, DNS, DHCP, and IIS
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise projects is highly recommended
  • Understanding of Shared Storage, Replication, load balancing, and WAN Technologies
  • Working knowledge of IT Security and Firewall technologies
  • Strong problem determination skills.
