Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and records.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to : accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Conduct thorough reviews and clean-up of existing accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Audit and standardize job costing systems to accurately track project costs and profitability.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to gather and analyze financial data related to specific projects.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding financial and tax reporting.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Assist in the preparation of WIP report, budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
Required qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the construction industry.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proven experience with job costing and project accounting in a construction environment.
- Netsuite experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
