The Referral Assistant is responsible for authorization and process of requested referrals. Provides assistance to clinical office staff with insurance issues;
assists patients with referral and insurance related issues. All activities must be conducted in a highly confidential, professional and personable manner.
Provides high quality service to all customers. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year clinical front office experience required.
Knowledgeable of insurance types and their guidelines including the ability to read and interpret EOBs; ICD and CPT coding systems.
Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.
- g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate / troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others;
- work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone;
- think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve;
