Your New Role
The Designer, Toys will help support the Toys / Collector business. The Designer will manage a number of accounts and work with them in developing and reviewing product submissions for these categories.
To be successful in the role, the designer will be to execute design assignments such as pitch decks, and product designs and have good time management to multi-task projects and responsibilities.
Additionally, they will work to create graphics, research trends, and present their ideas and will drive conversation with multiple partners to achieve assets and approvals.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Responsible for concept development for business segments listed above.
- Translate Warner Bros. story telling into Toy design.
- Interpret current trends and translate them into good product design.
- Follow best practices implemented and shared across all areas.
- Manage multiple categories, which includes but not limited to, communication and update with licensees, give design feedback, review product submissions and samples, and lead creative calls.
- Handle physical samples to review, comment, and store in a timely manner.
- Able to communicate and partner with all internal teams, ie. BA, franchise, legal, category, etc.., to ensure proper feedback is communicated to licensees.
- Manage Assets and Approvals with internal and external partners to drive results from concept to pre-production approval milestones
- Manage key licensee accounts which includes leading your accounts meetings and approvals
Product Management :
- Work closely with Supervisor to produce fresh, compelling designs that meet the business needs / strategies.
- Follow best practices, implemented and shared across all areas.
- Understand technical aspects of construction of products and components regarding design and development.
- Coordinating and setting up products for Internal meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
Work Experience
2-3 years’ experience in product design, licensing experience a plus.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
BA, BFA or 2 years Technical College in a design discipline
Knowledge / Skills
- Ability to clearly communicate and present vision and ideas
- Team player and problem solver
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Must be a self-starter with a tenacious attitude and a strong work ethic
- Knowledge / awareness of competitive businesses
- Advanced skills working with Illustrator and Photoshop, 3D programs a plus
- Additional computer skills, include InDesign, Word, Excel and Power Point / Keynote
- Licensing business model experience is a plus
