Accountant

OVERVIEW : The Accountant will prepare and assist in maintaining financial records for the MarineMax Super Yacht (SYD) Division to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, and other related finance and accounting activities.

The Team Member will also process expense reports, assist the US Corporate Controller with the monthly financial statements and end of month reconciliation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Maintains the general ledger for Escrow Accounts
• Sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and processes payments
• Reconciles bank accounts daily and monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
• Verifies and / or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Manage all entries in Acumatica Accounting System and consult with Corporate Controller for release of payments
• Maintains knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures
• Assists Controller with ad hoc tasks related to end-of month closing
• Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required
• At least five years of related accounting experience required
• Experience in the yachting industry preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 with advanced Excel
• SAP, Oracle, Acumatica, or similar systems experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

• Work is conducted most often indoors in an air conditioned, illuminated office environment
• Utilization of standard office equipment is used in the working environment
• Light lifting, pulling, and carrying up to 25 lbs.
• Sitting for extended periods of time
