The Health Educator coordinates outreach, recruitment, and retention of Asian Americans to the ASPIRE program in the Division of Hematology Oncology at UC Davis Health, under the director of the faculty PI, Dr.
Moon Chen. Populations of emphasis are Hmong and Vietnamese and thus the preference is to hire a bicultural / bilingual candidate (English and either Hmong or Vietnamese) who will reach out to these populations with limited English proficiency so that they can be encouraged to enroll in this study.
Most desirable characteristics of the position include interpersonal skills plus qualitative research skills (e.g., key informant interviewing, focus group leadership).
The position requires travel to meet with potential cohort participants, recruit and retain those participants, and engage Asian American-serving community-based organizations.
