This is a Managing Attorney Position and will involve both practicing law and reviewing and managing the workflow of associate attorneys and paralegals.

At Fisher Law LLC, we help individuals and families navigate some of the most difficult phases in their lives by helping them plan their legacy that may involve avoiding probate, minimizing estate taxes, planning for long-term care and the mitigating the associated, devastating financial effects, plan for family members with special needs, and guardianships / conservatorships.

What you will be doing : As the Managing Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading our legal team while engaging with clients to provide exceptional legal services.

Specifically, the Managing Attorney will ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. In addition to the Principal Attorney, they will be the primary contact for clients ensuring positive client relationships, moving files through the Firm’s pipeline and processes, and will work with the Principal Attorney to consistently deliver quality legal services.

They will also support the Principal Attorney in client development.

Responsibilities :

  • 25% of Your Time : Managing and Leading the Legal Team
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide coaching to our amazing team of attorneys and paralegals.
  • Promote a collaborative and productive work environment, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
  • Efficiently manage caseloads and work allocation, optimizing team performance.
  • Review and approve legal documents, contracts, and client communications.
  • 75% of Your Time : Meeting with Clients
  • Conducting client meetings (initial, design, signing, and funding), drafting estate planning documents, managing MassHealth applications, counseling clients on eligibility for MassHealth and VA enhanced pensions and preparing eligibility opinion letters, filing probates, guardianships and conservatorships (including attending court hearings), completing estate tax returns and work with accounting professionals on the preparation of gift tax and trust reporting filings, preparing trust funding recommendations and working with financial advisors on funding completion, meeting 1250 billable hours annually.
  • Provide excellent legal advice and develop customized strategies to meet clients' objectives.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings and transactions, ensuring solid advocacy of their interests.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and outstanding service.

Qualifications :

  • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts and in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in drafting sophisticated estate planning plans that may include estate tax planning, long-term care planning or special needs planning, trusts and estate administration (including estate tax preparation), and / or guardianships and conservatorships.
  • Strong knowledge of practice area laws and regulations, including advanced estate planning techniques and Medicaid regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading legal professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Is client-centered, a team player, highly organized, meticulous, and most importantly, committed to delivering high-quality legal services from all team members.
  • Experience in WealthDocx, ElderDocx, Clio highly desirable.

Compensation : Starting at $140,000
