Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth for all students.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to address students' unique needs effectively.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals and support staff working with students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, behavior, and IEP goals.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (required).
- Valid state certification / license in Special Education (required).
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students with special needs.
