Position Title : 2025 Youth and Family Public Programs Intern - Spring

Division : Learning and Engagement

Department : Public Programs

Reports to : Youth and Family Programs Manager

Compensation Range : $13.00

Position Summary :

The Youth & Family Public Programs internship with Crystal Bridges and the Momentary (CBMO) is designed to provide an overview of the skills and responsibilities required to develop educational programs and activities to enhance CBMO engagement for a youth and family audience.

To provide the intern with both real-world education and experience as well as applicable hands on capabilities, a primary responsibility for this position is learning to perform the duties necessary to support youth & family programs including family days, school break programming, camps, classes, nature programs, exhibition openings, and other museum wide events.

Most programs are delivered on evening and weekends; there is some flexibility in scheduling, though a priority for the position is availability to experience and support events Wednesday through Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Assist with youth and family public program facilitation, including family days, school break programming, camps, classes, nature programs, exhibition openings, and other museum wide events
  • Material preparation and inventory
  • Liaison with guest speakers, partners, and instructors for program planning and implementation
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed
  • Work with the public in a positive and professional manner
  • In addition, the Intern will have the opportunity to research, plan and create new content for future studio programs, based on the intern’s interest and skills.

Qualifications :

  • College student, sophomore or above
  • Experience or interest in studio art, art education, museum work, art history, or event production is preferred.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information as required

Hours : Undergraduate students (bachelor’s Level) : Up to 20 hours a week;

Weekly schedule to be arranged with direct supervisor

To qualify for bachelor’s or master’s hours, you must be enrolled in an accredited program or have graduated from an accredited program within the last three years.

Students will be required to submit a current schedule or official transcript.

Compensation :

Undergraduate Interns : $13.00 an hour

Visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job.

Work will be performed in an office environment and museum spaces. The noise level in the museum work environment is usually low to moderate.

If the intern’s personal equipment is used, the museum accepts no liability for any damage caused to said equipment while being used for museum purposes, nor loss or corruption of electronic files on devices.
