Schedule : Full Time - Monday-Friday, 7 : 30 / 8 : 00AM-5 : 00 / 5 : 30PM (Start times may vary slightly depending on patient schedule for the day.)
Work Environment : Onsite in a clinical office setting.

Position Summary
As a Certified Nursing Assistant at Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting our healthcare providers and staff, and contributing to the overall well-being of patients.

Essential Responsibilities
- Review charts prior to appointments; obtain all films, reports, or records necessary for patient visits. Document through the electronic record what x-rays are needed at time of visit.
- Draw up injections and set out appropriate supplies.
- Room patients and obtains their chief complaint(s); collect and update medical history; take and record vital signs per protocol;
educate and prep the patient for the physician.
- Reinforce, apply and document Physician instructions to patient including activity limitation, wound care, braces, studies / blood work, medications, and medical equipment.
- Schedule outside studies, make referrals, and obtain appropriate authorizations as ordered by the physician.
- Follow up on radiology studies in order to ensure they were scheduled and completed. Confirm a follow up appointment is scheduled with the patient.
- Copy, scan, and send out signed therapy prescriptions, physical therapy protocols, handouts for patient instructions, and medical records.
- Help with coordination of appropriate patient outcome data and research forms.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Maintain safety for all patients and visitors by adhering to OSHA guidelines and procedures. Monitor the cleanliness and sterility of instruments and equipment used in the office.
- Clean, dispose of, and restock equipment between patients and at the end of the day
- Complete fee ticket appropriately.
- Sort and distribute physician mail if appropriate.
- Report to scheduled shifts on time and respond to requests with promptness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience :
- Required :
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification required
- Completed competency-based orientation program and CPR certification (BLS), or the ability to maintain certification within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred :
- 1+ years of CNA experience or other applicable patient care experience.
- Experience working in an EMR system.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong degree of tech savviness.
- Ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients and families in way that they understand.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations.
Motor, Sensory, and Physical Requirements :
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting and reaching required.
- Employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics and techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
- Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment.
- Employee must have normal or correctible rage of hearing and eyesight.
