Senior Manager of Product Management for Content Discovery and Search, Samsung TV Plus
DESCRIPTION
The Samsung global services team is responsible for driving Smart TV and mobile services businesses by building intelligent, integrated, cross-platform services that delight and entertain users.
Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s direct-to-consumer OTT video service featuring ad-supported linear channels and ad-supported VOD.
In the US, TV Plus launched in April 2018 and is currently available on 2016-24 model Samsung Smart TVs and recent Galaxy mobile devices.
As a Senior Manager of Product Management for TV Plus, your primary focus will be to define the vision and strategy for improving content discovery for Samsung TV Plus across a variety of surfaces, ensuring that each viewer receives the best content recommendation personalized to their taste and interest.
You will manage a small team and collaborate with other cross-functional teams in the US and abroad to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance our approach to content recommendations, drive engagement through personalization, and delight viewers by helping them find what they want to watch, when they want to watch it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the vision and strategy for improving content discovery to deliver personalized recommendations for each viewer.
- Develop a deep understanding of viewer needs through data analysis and market research.
- Proactively align requirements with stakeholders from leadership in Korea and US, engineering, UX, marketing, legal, and other teams.
- Define roadmap priorities based on business objectives and user feedback.
- Define success KPIs and monitor performance against them.
- Instill a culture of experimentation to continuously improve our recommendation systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop and implement recommendation algorithms.
- Work with the UX team to ensure a seamless user experience for content discovery and search.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in content recommendation technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience on consumer-facing content services, preferably in the streaming industry.
- Demonstrated success in defining and implementing successful content recommendation systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights to drive decision-making.
- Experience collaborating with a globally distributed team.
- Team building and management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $ 175,000 and $ 210,000 plus bonus. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
