About The Position

Locums Opportunity - Supervising Psychiatrist - Greensboro, NC

We are seeking a dedicated Supervising Psychiatrist to lead and oversee care teams across three critical departments : Urgent Care (UC), FBC (Facility-Based Crisis), and Outpatient Clinic (OP Clinic).

This role emphasizes supervision and assistance with complex cases, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision : Oversee clinical teams in UC, FBC, and OP Clinic, focusing on complex cases and ensuring effective patient management.
• Patient Management : While direct patient coverage is limited, the psychiatrist is responsible for the overall management of patient care across departments.
• Collaboration : Work closely with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), residents, and therapists, providing guidance and support.

Department Details

• Urgent Care (UC) :
• Daily patient volume : 20-30, with 6-8 in observation.
• Staffed by two APPs managing patient coverage.
• Facility-Based Crisis (FBC) :
• 16-bed unit with an average daily census (ADC) of 5-6.
• Residents cover the unit 80% of the time.
• Outpatient Clinic (OP Clinic) :
• Staffed with therapists and residents requiring supervision.

Job Details

• Support Staff : Includes 3 APPs in UC / obs unit, either an APP or resident in FBC, and an APP in each ED (MC and WL).
• Coverage Type : Scheduled, no call.
• Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend shifts.
• Patient Age Group : Patients aged 5 and older. Patients under 16 needing observation / FBC are referred to a different facility.

Requirements

• Board Certifications : Required in Psychiatry.
• State License : Must hold a license in North Carolina.
• Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• DEA : Required.
• Experience : Must be comfortable triaging children and adolescents.
