Job Title : Maintenance Director
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of our organization.
The Maintenance Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of our facilities and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage a diverse team of technicians.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program that aligns with the organization's objectives and ensures the optimal functioning of all facilities, equipment, and systems.
2. Hire, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance their technical skills and overall performance.
3. Create and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure regular inspections, servicing, and repairs of equipment and facilities, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
4. Oversee reactive maintenance activities, responding to urgent repairs, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating with outside vendors when necessary.
5. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and grounds, identifying potential safety hazards or deficiencies and implementing corrective action plans promptly.
6. Develop and manage the maintenance budget, monitoring expenses and controlling costs while ensuring funds are allocated effectively for equipment upgrades, replacements, and routine maintenance.
7. Collaborate with other departments to understand their specific maintenance needs and priorities, providing support and technical expertise as required.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards related to safety, environmental protection, and maintenance practices.
9. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inventory, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other tools.
10. Stay updated with advancements in maintenance technologies, equipment, and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate to enhance performance and reduce maintenance costs.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a similar role within a large organization.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in a variety of maintenance disciplines, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
