Job Summary
Heartwood Extended Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Laundry Aide responsible for assisting in all aspects of laundering resident clothing and facility linens.
Essential Functions :
- Folding and distributing clean linens.
- Inspecting mechanical lift slings and sling straps for fraying and wear.
- Keeping residents' closet / drawer areas orderly.
- Cleaning dryer lint screens.
- Demonstrating adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic techniques including those that apply to blood borne pathogens.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the position's requirements.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
- Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
