Yes Employment Category Regular Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 24 hours per week) Administrative Program Assistant position for the Environmental Sciences Graduate Program at Oregon State University (OSU).

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Environmental Sciences Graduate Program. This position provides exceptional customer service to diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Major duties include, but are not limited to graduate student academic program support, program administrative support, creating program publications, marketing materials, and website management.

and Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures. What You Will Need

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact and communicate successfully and inclusively, both in writing and verbally, with a broad and diverse audience in a professional, positive and friendly manner.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and explain University regulations and procedures in relation to students, hiring and other areas needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently with frequent interruptions while successfully balancing multiple demands.
  • Experience using PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, desk top publishing and standard office equipment.
  • Experience creating marketing materials or other publications.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and adaptability in problem solving while enforcing established policies and procedures.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard : 05-010 et seq.

Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Willingness to learn new programs and skills.
  • Experience working in Student Services.
  • Experience with website management, InDesign, and Publisher.
  • Experience with OSU systems such as CORE, DocuSign. BANNER, BennyHire, OnBase.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule Work schedule will be determined with supervisor and is anticipated to be 24 hours / week.

May require occasional evening attendance at departmental events. Flexibility to work remotely, with scheduled in person office hours as needed.
