Foster School of Business has an opportunity for an Director of Operations.Responsible for strategic planning, direction, and control of programs within Executive Education.

Utilize specialized knowledge of the program to develop strategic plans, oversee their implementation, and ensure continued performance.

Will utilize delegated decision-making authority to allocate resources and establish policies, methods, procedures, and work rules for the programs and the associated staff.

Will ensure program conforms to institutional and department policies and requirements and supervise program managers responsible for assigned programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Oversight and Development of Program Operations (80%)

  • Provide strategic input to the Associate Dean on growth plans.
  • Have autonomy over the end-to-end operations of Executive Education programs, ensuring seamless execution and delivery including supervision over faculty, vendors, staff, client relationships, financial performance.
  • Develop and cultivate high level relationships with key clients like Boeing, Amazon, and international clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Lead board agenda and discussions for select program(s) to ensure continuation of long-term partnerships.
  • Make strategic decisions that support overall departmental goals and strategies with prospective clients, participants, alumni, and key decision makers.
  • Direct, oversee, and supervise 1 Associate Director and 4 Program Managers on all aspects of program delivery including management, coordination, budgets, goals, curriculum, faculty, course materials, evaluations, residential accommodations and social events.
  • Develop near-term and long-term strategic plans to ensure development and delivery of all office operations.
  • Cultivate and strengthen key stakeholders and customers for long-term engagement and support.
  • Develop manuals that outline clear workflow processes pertaining to program performance.
  • Implement and maintain quality standards for program content and delivery by gathering participant and faculty feedback and conduct post-program evaluations to assess program effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Generate reports and use data insights to make informed decisions and improvements to program offerings.
  • Act as administrator of program management software, and use the technology to manage process flow of all programs and staff.
  • Perform annual performance reviews and development plans for all Executive Education Program Managers.
  • Stay current with best practices in executive education and program management.
  • Engage in professional development activities, attend relevant conferences, and network with industry professionals.
  • Share insights and knowledge with the team to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Hire, train, coach and terminate program operations staff if needed.
  • Ensure that executive education programs adhere to relevant accreditation standards and university policies.
  • Collaborate with accreditation bodies to facilitate the accreditation process for programs if needed.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify opportunities for program customization and expansion.

New Program Development (20%)

  • Identify new program opportunities through research, market trends, reports, and meeting with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and design new programs that lead net contribution back to the Dean's office.
  • Develop key stakeholder relationships and negotiate on multi-year contract agreements.
  • Meet with potential clients / partners to discuss custom program opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts of various domestic and international business clients so as to deliver the best programs possible.

Develop and design new programs with potential clients as the lead contact person.

Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Business or other Humanities and a minimum of 5-years of work experience in program development.

Equivalent education / experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license / certification / registration.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS This position also requires excellent writing, speaking and interpersonal skills; supervisory experience;

an ability to maintain and initiate programs, make independent decisions, and work with faculty, university administrators, and business clients at all levels.

Proven experience in these areas is highly desirable. Demonstrated record of growth impact; team supervision; advancement within organizations;

managing operation of complex business units. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in adult education.
  • Experience and language proficiency in English.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Comfortable having difficult conversations with faculty, staff, and vendors.
  • Strong experience with contract development and negotiations.

WORKING CONDITIONS This position is mostly first shift (8am-5pm) but on occasion there are seasonal events that would require some evening or weekend shifts.
