Purpose of the Position :
The Research Engineer II Step 3 will coordinate and lead outreach events to students and professional development to teachers and guidance counselors utilizing a mobile classroom equipped with high-tech teaching tools and resources, designed to bring cyber education to schools and events in various locations (frequent overnight travel required);
design curriculum for outreach events; lead the marketing and reporting of department outreach efforts.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead outreach events to students and professional development to teachers and guidance counselors utilizing a mobile
- classroom equipped with high-tech teaching tools and resources, designed to bring cyber education to schools and events in various locations (frequent overnight travel required)
- Design curriculum for outreach events
- Lead the marketing and reporting of department outreach efforts
- Track and maintain outreach supplies and related equipment
- Develop and write proposals with CCRE team members and external collaborators
Minimum Requirements :
- Master's degree - preferably in Science, Engineering or Business - or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
- 1.5 - 1.75+ years of full-time verifiable work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience conducting professional development opportunities and teaching middle and secondary students
- Experience teaching cybersecurity or other STEM courses at the elementary, secondary, or postsecondary level
- Leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Desired Qualifications :
- Curriculum development experience is desired
- At least 5 years of classroom teaching experience is preferred
- Experience speaking at conferences or other events is desired
- Experience organizing events is desired
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Alabama Teaching Certificate
