Hiring Range : $29.58- $36.97Per Hour

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus* (Half Paid At First Paycheck, Half Paid After 12 Months)

Kitsap Mental Health Services is hiring a dedicated and experienced Child and Family Therapist to join our new and growing Early Relational Team.

As an Infant Early Childhood Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to infants, young children (ages 0-5), and their families.

This position requires a skilled professional who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team to address the unique needs of our clients.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Deliver individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, and care management tailored to the unique needs of infants and young children and their families.
  • Function as the lead of the care team within the agency, coordinating with peer support, housing support, adult support, care coordinators, and other essential team members to meet the complete needs of the family.
  • Conduct initial assessments and diagnoses of clients aged 0-5, providing a comprehensive overview of individual and family needs.
  • Create, evaluate, and revise individualized treatment goals and plans focusing on developmental milestones and early intervention strategies.
  • Facilitate connections for families to both internal and external services, including medical and dental care, developmental specialists, educational support, and other necessary resources.
  • Provide education and support to caregivers, guardians, educators, and medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s development and well-being.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with community agencies such as DSHS, court systems, housing authorities, and child protective services to ensure seamless coordination in the treatment process.
  • Work directly with families to develop healthy self-management skills, ensuring access to primary care physicians, dentists, and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Accurately document all services provided, including assessments, evaluations, treatment plans, goals, crisis plans, and progress notes.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention counseling and coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders and crisis services when necessary.
  • Educate clients and families on substance use and its impact on mental and physical health, coordinating treatment with both internal and external substance use providers.
  • Assist clients in accessing resources and education that support their autonomy and meet their basic needs, empowering families to navigate various support systems effectively.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family, Relational Counseling, Social Work, or a related Social Services, or mental health field degree.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience working with 0-5 age range. (can include graduate internship) ORcertification in 1+ of the following infant / early childhood evidence based practices :

Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC)

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)

Infant-Parent Psychotherapy (IPP)

Promoting First Relationships (PFR)

Theraplay

National Child Traumatic Stress Network Learning Collaboratives

Licensure : Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC), or Associate license

This position may require driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience with preferred experience working with other service providers and child and family systems, 2 years with 0-5 age range, and evidenced-based practice.

Certifications : Preferred training in DC : 0-5, evidence-based training in the 0-5 age range such as Attachment and Bio-behavioral Catch-up, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Infant-Parent Psychotherapy, Promoting First Relationships, TheraPlay, and National Child Traumatic Stress Network Learning Collaborative.

Licensure : Washington License (LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC) preferred, Infant Early Childhood Endorsement.
