Vacancy ID : FAC0005091 Position Summary / Description : The School of Social Work ( SSW ) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for a fixed-term, non-tenure-track, faculty member at the rank of Clinical Instructor.
This Clinical faculty position is a 12-month appointment as the Global Engagement Program Coordinator. The Global Engagement Program Coordinator / Clinical Instructor will assist the Associate Dean for Global Engagement in planning, managing, and coordinating the School of Social Work ( SSW ) global programs.
In addition to contributing to the strategic direction, design and implementation of Global Programs, the coordinator will provide support and services to SSW International students and international visitors.
In addition to other duties such as committee work, the Coordinator will teach 1 graduate-level classes at the SSW per academic year, will participate in admission interviews, onboarding and advising international students, and serve on curricular committees.
The coordinator will primarily teach a global development practice course, which will be a pre-requisite for an immersion program.
The program coordinator may also be required to teach other courses in the Community, Management and Policy Practice track as needed.
- This is a full time (1.0 FTE ) position. Education and Experience : Preferred qualifications include skills associated with program management in global or related settings;
- knowledge of current global social, economic and health issues and their impact on the well-being of individuals, families, and communities;
and experience working in international settings or in an organization in the U.S. with global focus. Graduate school-level teaching experience preferred, especially in a Graduate School of Social Work.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, pre- or post- Master's studies, is preferred.
