Job Description
Inova Health System's Juniper Program is Northern Virginia's largest provider of HIV / AIDS care. We are looking for an experienced RN to join our team at the Inova Juniper Program - Fairfax location.
This is a Full-Time position (40 hours / week).

Inova Juniper Program is Northern Virginia's largest provider of HIV / AIDS care. We are proud to offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case management services to HIV positive individuals along with a history of delivering compassionate HIV / AIDS clinical and education services.
Our convenient services are available at locations around Northern Virginia. We provide compassionate, dignified care to individuals regardless of their sex, race, background, sexual orientation, religious preference, financial status, or insurance coverage.
At any given time, Inova Juniper provides services to about 1,800 active clients.
Location : Inova Juniper Program - Mount Vernon Office 8101 Hinson Farm Rd
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 30am-5pm.
The Registered Nurse Outpatient provides safe / therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting.
Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education.
Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings.
Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
- Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Identifies variances from expected outcomes.
Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care.
Collaborates with patients / families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients.
Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.
e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Responds to changes in patients' needs and provides holistic caring.
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
- Actively advocates for patients' rights and identifies potential conflicts.
- Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.
- Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies or content
- Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.
- Participates in work groups and / or committees. Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of team or committee work into practice.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association) required.
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
- Open to RNs with 0 months RN experience
