Quality Assurance Technician
Department : Quality Assurance
Status : Non-Exempt
Employee Classification : Regular Full-time
Reports To : Quality Assurance Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities : None
Shift : Saturday through Tuesday, 3 : 45pm to 3 : 00am
Job Summary : Responsible for performing Quality Assurance testing and ensure Food Safety and Quality in Ever Fresh Fruit Products, Raw Materials, Packaging, Equipment, Facility, etc.
Essential Functions :
- Create accurate records, all conducted according to established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining GMPs throughout the facility both within the QA department and all other departments.
- Assist with Pre-operational inspections
- Provide Production support
- Monitor and adhere to HACCP plans, reporting and performing corrective action when necessary
- Perform Product Quality testing (brix, pH, pressure, USDA grades, etc.)
- Perform Product documentation control, scanning and filing
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute ratio and percent.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Working Conditions / Physical Factors :
- Exposure to wet and / or humid conditions.
- Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
- Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current
- Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally required to use hands and fingers
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to taste and smell
- Frequently required to lift / push / pull / carry weight up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include : close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
