The ideal candidate will have proven international / domestic origin management and freight forwarding sales experience with an emphasis on Business Development.
Effective and strategic sales professional with a drive for revenue growth. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (MBA a plus).
The Director of Business Development, reporting to the (CCO or VP Sales), will be responsible for executing a commercial growth strategy centered on territory development and account acquisition.
The successful candidate will be an energetic, self-starter who has a hunger to drive revenue growth through new business acquisition.
We are looking for an individual who is excited about the opportunity to aggressively target, seek out, cultivate and establish new business opportunities in a highly competitive market and grow the territory.
The Director of Business Development will own their territory and all revenue opportunities within. The primary objective is to achieve exponential growth across all commercial services.
This position will partner and work closely with the Corporate Marketing team to drive revenue growth through the use of direct customer sales, CRM pipeline management & availability lead generating technologies.
Maintaining an extensive working knowledge of non-Company customers within your region, current provider business models and selection criteria environment is a MUST.
Lead Responsibilities - Director Of Business Development
- Identify, prioritize, and initiate business development opportunities across your entire territory.
- Locate new business opportunities across all three commercial services (OCM / NVOCC / Domestic).
- Develop, manage the sales process and business plans from initial touchpoint through contract execution, meeting and exceeding individual, team goals and defined sales goals.
- Arrange business and sales demonstrations and navigate complex business solutions.
- Closely follow industry and market trends to effectively communicate the value propositions of our solutions.
- Initiate and engage with clients that provide sustained and profitable revenue streams across all services.
- Mine existing and prospective clients for portfolio business and assist in the execution of various organizational functions.
- Partner with local and international operations staff.
- Help lead long-term initiatives and projects.
- Build customer relationships through strategic conversations to understand organizational business objectives and goals;
perform a basic client needs analysis with prospective partners and mirror those objectives.
Maintain accurate timelines of CRM database regarding client accounts and prospective leads.

- Experience developing and maintaining executive-level sales relationships.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
- 5 years of business development or sales experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven presentation skills to an executive level.
- Availability to travel.
