SkyBridge Luxury & Associates has partnered with a luxury resort in San Diego to source an experienced Director of Finance.
This role is ideal for a finance professional skilled in leading detailed accounting processes within high-end hospitality.
The Director of Finance will manage all financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and income audits, while providing strategic guidance and maintaining financial stability.
This position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, build a dynamic finance team, and work closely with ownership to achieve the resort’s long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Management & Reporting :
- Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and income audits.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Develop financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to present to ownership and executive leadership.
Strategic Planning & Analysis :
- Implement long-term financial strategies to align with the resort’s business objectives.
- Analyze financial performance metrics and deliver insights to inform decision-making.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency improvements across finance-related processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting :
- Lead the annual budgeting process with department heads, aligning financial plans with operational goals.
- Prepare financial forecasts, ensuring cash flow projections align with budgetary requirements.
Leadership & Team Development :
- Build and manage a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration and results-oriented practices.
- Mentor and develop finance staff, promoting professional growth and teamwork across departments.
Compliance & Internal Controls :
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, along with hotel policies.
- Establish internal controls to safeguard assets, conducting regular audits and reviews.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years in a Director of Finance role within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Strong understanding of hospitality finance, including F&B revenue management and inventory practices.
- Expertise with financial software and ERP systems, along with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and proven leadership experience in a dynamic environment.
