Job Summary : The Executive Director is responsible for making the community succeed in Census, Budget, and Cultural goals.

That will mean going above and beyond the duties set forth in a job description. There will inevitably be a number of difficulties beyond what we anticipate, and you would need to work through those difficulties and stay focused on our goals.

Beyond that, clear communication to the home office is critical so everyone can work as a team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for preparing, controlling, and meeting budget, ultimately NOI performance.
  • Engaging sales team daily, and work with the entire community to drive towards 100% occupancy.
  • As the sales leader for the community, ensure all sales and marketing goals are on track and conduct weekly sales meetings with Director of Community Relations (DCR) and Director of Resident Services (DRS).
  • Responsible for achieving revenue and census goals through direct implementation of the marketing plan.
  • Supervises all departments to ensure that all established policies and procedures are followed.
  • Facilitate positive verbal communication with key family members every 60 days. Additionally, communicate proactively on community happenings 2-4 times a month or as needed.
  • Responds to all family inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Hosts and leads in-services to keep current with regulatory requirements and improving customer service within the community.
  • Champion the hiring for the community by interviewing and hiring for department managers, meeting new hires and leading interview and hiring trainings for the community.

Ensuring that the team is focused on pro-active hiring and sticking to training requirements.

  • Know your residents and engage with them through activities, walking the hallways and engaging 1 : 1.
  • Leading by example when it comes to hospitality. Delivering excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors and vendors.
  • Know your team members and build professional but friendly relationships with teams and abide by an open-door policy.
  • Conduct 1 : 1 meeting with managers on a weekly basis.
  • Satisfies and monitors education needs of department managers and continuing educations of team members.
  • Ensures that an attractive home environment always exists; that fosters engagement, socialization and purposeful living.

Supporting seasonal presentation, décor, planting, etc.

Additional Functions :

Must possess qualities of leadership, tact, and adaptability to change. Must be neat in appearance, pleasant personality, be congenial to fellow team members, residents, families and the public in general.

Must be capable of using own judgement and initiative in daily duties.

  • Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail and team-work oriented.
  • Must attend required in-services / workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in standard English and use own judgment and initiative in daily activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Must be Drug free.
  • Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • A passion for helping seniors, especially those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • Experience working with Dementia residents.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to interact with a variety of electronic devices.
  • Empathy for the challenges experienced by residents, family and team members and the problem-solving skill set to support them
  • Ability to handle multiple task simultaneously,
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.

Physical Demands and Requirements :

  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout 50% of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach / hand items.
