Senior Platform Support Specialist - Enterprise, Avangrid Management Company, LLC, Rochester, NY :

Leads and designs technical support and solutions for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM, EMC, NETAPP, and Commvault storage and backup platforms supporting Hyper-V, Redhat, Vmware, Oracle, SQL, SAP HANA for daily production requirements and project development.

Responsible for Avangrid Storage migration, configuration, and support in the Azure Cloud as well as on-premises. Seeks Cloud storage cost efficiency, making proposals to respond to the business units’ requirements and needs at the highest cost-benefit rate.

Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of the infrastructure. Monitors backup and storage devices for performance and availability.

Makes recommendations when necessary to meet the expected demands. Maintains current system tables such as user accounts, host definitions, software inventories, ports inventory, storage networks, and backup policies.

Installs / maintains third-party software packages as required. Maintains current devices' firmware and software versions up to date, including patch levels on all devices.

Designs the roadmap to ensure the storage and backup infrastructure reliability, scalability, and availability, reducing the environment obsolescence through the appropriate lifecycle programs.

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.

Full-time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week, $113,049.10 per year.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 4 years of progressive, post-bachelor work experience in IT storage.

Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience in clustered high availability configurations across multiple sites for Tier 1 applications.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years work experience in each of the following :

• Planning, developing, and implementing large-scale projects from conception to completion;
• Performance tuning and planning for consolidation of storage;
• Implementing and administering NetApp, EMC, and IBM Storages, including VMAZ, VNX, Powerman, EMC Unity, VPLEX, Recover point, Clariion storage technologies, IBM DSxxx series, FS9200, V5030E, or NetApp Fasxxxx series;
• Administration of storage to multiprotocol environments;
• Administration of NFS, DD Boost FS, and Microsoft SMB protocol in large environments.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following :

• Working in a utility company;
• Setting up Commvault backup schedules, storage policies, daily alert reports, backup summary reports, audit reports, and restore process;
• Microsoft Azure fundamentals, including storage solution concepts, queue storage, table storage, blob storage, and file storage.
