What Your Job Will Be Like :
Our team is seeking a dedicated R&D Laboratory Support Technologist.On any given day, you may be called on to :
- Interact with customers, other technologists, and staff supporting all of Sandia's missions
- Support staff in procuring, safely operating, installing, upgrading, and maintaining Metal Additive Printing systems in support of R&D prototyping activities.
Other duties include a collecting a wide variety of data during metal printing including thermal, optical, acoustic then analyzing the information.
The AM tools include LPBF, DED (Laser based) powder and wire, WAAM, and FFF
- Develop ES&H documentation such as operating procedures, pressure safety data packages, laser safety, electrical safety, etc.
- Work safely in a collaborative environment and maintain security
Due to the nature of the work, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite
Salary Range : $70,200 - $135,400

Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require :
- Associates in electromechanical technology, laser / optical technology, additive manufacturing, or related engineering or technology field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing
- Experience with CAD and / or CAM
- Able to acquire and maintain DOE Q-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire :
- Experience operating, trouble shooting, maintaining, and / or repairing Laser and Wire Arc based Metal AM printers
- Knowledge of conventional or subtractive manufacturing
- Knowledge of lasers and optics
- Knowledge of electronics and electrical characterization
- Knowledge of pressure systems and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with CNC Machining
- Ability to operate or program robotics or motion systems
- Active DOE or DoD security clearance
