STEM Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment organization, is currently seeking a STEM Teacher for the 2025-2026 year in K-12 independent school in the San Francisco Bay area.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced STEM and Mathematics Teacher who excels in creating an engaging learning environment.

This role emphasizes personalized education, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work within the Montessori philosophy.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Deliver a rich, challenging STEM-focused curriculum aligned with common core standards.
• Establish well-designed environments at each teaching location.
• Provide developmentally appropriate materials to foster social skills, self-concept, and creative expression.
• Maintain multiple classroom environments in separate geographic locations (currently 4). Requires that the candidate anticipate the learning needs of the students prior to travel to the next location.
• Plan and implement a balanced daily schedule.
• Plan and execute educational trips and overnight experiences.
• Conduct at least three parent-teacher conferences annually.
• Host at least two open houses or family events annually.
• Occasionally serve as lead teacher at a second site.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Requirements :

• Degree in a STEM field, with priority given to candidates with a math background.
• Minimum of five years of classroom experience in a state-licensed program.
• Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally (20-40% of the school year, which runs September-August with approximately 9 weeks out of session).
• Superb attitude and work ethic.
• Ability to handle feedback and constructive criticism.
• Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and well-presented.
• Highly organized, efficient, service-oriented, and low ego.
• Flexible to accommodate a non-traditional work schedule.
• A team player focused on collaboration and shared success.
• Familiarity with Google Suite and various messaging tools.
• Passionate about upper elementary / middle school education.
• Ability to guide families in maximizing children's development.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Knowledgeable about developmental stages.
• Comfortable in rugged outdoor environments.
• Balances warmth and professionalism.
• Firm yet kind with discipline.
• Authorized to work in the U.S
