What you'll be responsible for :

Circle is looking for a talented leader who thrives in an innovative and high energy environment. The ideal candidate is interested in building at scale the critical operational backbone of the tax department and enjoys problem solving in an uncertain regulatory environment.

This is an integral role to drive efficiencies and standardization in both our US and international taxpliance and reporting This key hire will oversee external service providers' preparation of federal, state and international tax reporting andpliance functions (ie and indirect tax).

The Tax Operations team also prepares all quarterly and annual tax accounting for financial and SEC reporting purposes.

What you'll work on :

  • Managing the consolidated tax provision, quarterly filings, and other tax-related financial statements inpliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Leading and mentoring the tax team inpleting the provision process from planning and forecasting through to calculations, recording, analysis and reporting.
  • Managing external auditor relationship for US GAAP audit of ie taxes
  • Managing the team (internal and external) to deliver all US ie tax reporting including federal, state and US international tax returns.
  • Improving standardization / automation in the US taxpliance process and driving continuous process improvements to streamline the global tax accounting process.

Overseeing controls and ensuring processes, documentation and related systems are inpliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

  • Ensuring analytics and accuracy of the reported effective tax rateponents as well as the forecasted effective tax rate and cash taxes globally.
  • Championing operational excellence through process improvement, leveraging best practices, supporting the evolution of tax software tools, and promoting automation and technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Building and managing a global tax operations function with heavy emphasis on establishing efficient processes informed by multinational corporate experience and best practices.
  • Developing and motivating a team that will excel in a fast-moving, hyper-growth setting.
  • Building on key multistakeholder relationships with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Business teams to ensure integration of Tax as a business partner.
  • Contributing to quarterly reporting to the Auditmittee in Board of Director meetings.
  • Tracking US tax legislative developments and related implications to provide financial risk and operational advice to management on any impacts to Circle.
  • Driving key Tax contributions to the design and implementation of the future ERP system and be responsible for managing the tax software procurement process.
  • Automating recurring calculations including evaluating and implementing tax technology tools.

What you'll bring to Circle :

  • 12+ years of experience in global corporate tax (including public accounting experience).
  • At least 5+ years of managing a team in a publicpany setting or corporate tax department.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting for ie tax issues and US GAAP.
  • Fluency with various tax calculations andpliance software. (Proficiency with OneSource Provision or similar tools within Oracle ERP system environment would be a plus)
  • Familiarity with international tax and cross border differences.
  • Excellentmunications skills, ability to explain tax concepts with cross-functional and management teams
  • Prioritization of tax technical positions and related documentation. Experience with M&A strongly preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or fintech industries preferred.
  • Excellence in executingplex, multistakeholder projects and initiatives.
  • True relationship building skills andmitment to high standards of integrity and work quality.
  • Ability to lead by modeling collaborative, humble, and execution-oriented behavior.
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.
  • Experience / familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.

Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to : relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Please note thatpensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

Base Pay Range : $190,000 - $242,500

Annual Bonus Target : 20%
