We are seeking a Vice President of People and Culture to join our team in the non-profit sector based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This role will involve developing comprehensive strategies for talent management, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities :
- Formulate and implement a people-centric strategy that is aligned with the organization's mission and values.
- Lead the organization's efforts in diversity, inclusion, and equity, ensuring the promotion of a culture that respects and values differences.
- Design and manage effective strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and development, as well as succession planning.
- Provide guidance on human resource issues and lead initiatives such as employee engagement programs and benefits reviews.
- Collaborate with other executives and managers to cultivate a positive workplace environment.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Oversee the development of employees and manage programs related to career development and performance management.
- Develop and implement an HR strategy that supports the organization's goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance on labor law issues and ensure the organization is compliant.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees and ensure they are properly introduced to the organizational culture.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within a non-profit organization
- Proven expertise in Employee Relations, Career Development, HR Compliance, HR Strategy, and Labor Law
- Demonstrated experience in New Employee Orientation, Organizational Development, and Performance Management
- Strong background in Recruiting, Strategic Planning, and Succession Planning
- Exceptional ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies that align with organizational goals
- Proven track record in fostering an inclusive and engaging work culture
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including board members, employees, volunteers, donors, and community members
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
- Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, is a plus.
