Summary

We are hiring an experienced Bicycle Sales Associate. Pay range is based on experience level. We sell both eBikes and traditional bicycles.

You will help customers by listening to their needs and goals, educating them on products and services, answering questions and guiding them to bicycles, accessories and services that best suit them.

You will focus on exceeding customer expectations and sales goals, while working systems that are in place to support your success.

A passion for cycling, a knowledge of bicycles, and a proactive and positive attitude are qualities at the top of our list!

We love what we do and have fun doing it at our shop. That said, it's hard work and is fast paced. The following list is a must for all new hires :

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Participate in daily debriefs and weekly morning meetings
  • Greet customers with enthusiasm and utilize the sales process to understand their needs and find the right combination of products and services for their desired results
  • Inform, educate, and make appropriate recommendations based on riding style, experience and goals - whether bicycles, accessories, clothing or other cycling related products and / or services
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of the line-up we carry, including features, use and care. We provide training that will help you stay up-to-date
  • Maintain Trek University Guide Status by completing Trek U modules to further your knowledge or our products, services and procedures
  • Learn as much as possible about bikes, components, apparel, technology, the cycling industry and trends
  • Assist in the daily operations of the store, including opening store, performing closing procedures, processing website orders, cleaning and organizing
  • Maintain all aspects of store inventory and merchandising, including re-ordering, receiving, restocking, product placement, price auditing, cycle counts, etc
  • Follow up with and manage quotes, lead lists and open customer layaways
  • Maintain knowledge of sales and promotions, any price changes / updates needed to be made, and policies regarding payment and exchanges
  • Prep customer bikes for service tickets within our Service Department, and hang parts on new bikes waiting to be built by our service technicians
  • Guide customers regarding local area, riding conditions, and anything riding / trail related
  • Install vehicle rack systems and perform safety checks for the customer
  • Maintain a level of cleanliness and organization throughout the day
  • Other duties as needed / assigned

Requirements

Requirements include but are not limited to :

  • Minimum 1-year experience working as a retail sales associate. Bike shop experience preferred.
  • A cyclist that's passionate about bicycles, and promoting the benefits of a cycling lifestyle and culture
  • Able to work both independently and as a member of a team; committed to providing excellent sales and customer service.
  • Is intrinsically self motivated, positive, and friendly; thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Is organized, detail oriented, and has strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including weekends.
  • Capable of safely lifting and carrying 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Interest in developing own skills and knowledge

Nice To Haves

Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience in any or all of the following systems and tools :

  • Knowledge of Ascend POS
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Office
  • Has worked in a Trek dealership previously
  • Familiar with the Trek lineup
  • Cycling enthusiast
