What You'll Do

In this role, you'll act as the primary legal liaison for all important legal requests for Trust & Safety efforts.

In this role, you will

  • Act as legal support in trust and safety investigation and escalations.
  • Coordinate with the legal regulatory team on forthcoming regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the legal team, including other subject matter experts, to ensure fulsome advice.
  • Engage in conversations with business at all levels, including senior leadership, about risks and compliant opportunities for trust and safety.

What we're looking for

  • Licensed in good standing to practice law.
  • 6+ years legal experience, including 4+ years relevant experience focused on Trust and Safety (in-house experience at a fast-paced technology company preferred).
  • Hands-on experience providing practical and actionable legal guidance regarding risks and obligations under global safety and transparency laws (including EU's Digital Services Act, the UK's Online Safety Act, Australia's Online Safety Act), and relevant regulatory and litigation precedent.
  • Familiarity with global data protection law, including children's privacy law and age-appropriate design codes, and laws applicable to the use of artificial intelligence in the trust and safety context.
  • Understanding of safety, transparency, and privacy considerations relevant to user-generated content, user-to-user communication features, digital asset marketplaces, non-linear interactive media, and both proactive detection and reactive reporting and appeals.
  • Familiarity with global video games rating systems a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, an ability to operate autonomously as an expert in your area while exercising good judgment about escalation and collaboration, and confidence in being a primary point of contact for a wide range of internal stakeholders on legal trust and safety issues.
