Job Description
This position will have the responsibility to maintain custom and vendor web applications for both internal and external users of the hospital systems;
these users include employees, patients, physicians and other users as the needs are defined. They will partner with multiple departments and groups to provide project leadership / management, application-specific subject matter expertise, and technical insight and impact as they relate to Jackson’s intranet and internet presence.
They will be responsible for maintaining these applications in a ready state; including the core technical infrastructures that enable these applications.
This position will work with users to define specific application needs; develop the appropriate design; build the application;
produce documentation that meets organizations standards and needs, and then maintain the support of that application. They will also act as the primary liaison between physicians and the Information Services group in relation to the Physician Portal application and will help to define the technical needs of that physician group with the goal of providing the highest levels of support for these physicians.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. 2 4 years analyst experience along with exposure to the various hospital software application.
- Understanding and ability to use various web technologies; such as HTML, DHTML, and XML. Proficiency with some web tools;
- such as HTML Editors, SQL, Dreamweaver Ultradev, ColdFusion, Vignette or Microsoft Interdev. Proficiency with various relational databases;
such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle. Computer skills / knowledge in relational database building and administration.
Computer skills / knowledge in various operating systems; such as Unix-AIX, Windows Server, or Linux. Have some programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Active Server Pages (ASP), VBScript, PERL, Visual Basic, C, C+, Python, Unix Shell or Pascal.
Some basic understanding of HL7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills;
familiar with information needs of clinical departments; understanding of hospital policies and procedures; excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. Visual and hearing acuity. Ability to assist in moving, pulling, pushing equipment with a minimum of 30 pounds.
Ability to; meet the attendance requirements of the job. Ability to; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Manual dexterity necessary for data entry / programming and equipment set up. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
