About the Role
The Sr. Business Analyst (Sr. BA) will play a key role in Astrana’s growth strategy by gathering and documenting detailed project requirements, data analysis for M&A integration and implementation efforts, and supporting other operational initiatives.
They will be responsible for the information gathering and intake process for projects assigned by senior leaders. Projects will involve complex initiatives with cross-functional departments, including market growth, payor contract launches / conversions, new service line implementations, regulatory compliance, and special projects.
The Sr. BA will collaborate with their manager and stakeholders to gather relevant project artifacts and contribute to toolkit / template development, process documentation, and project reporting.
The Sr. BA will act as the liaison between stakeholders and integration teams, gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and clarifying business requirements, and ensuring the project meets these requirements throughout each phase.
Responsibilities also include managing small-scale projects independently and mid to large-scale projects in collaboration with Project Managers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. What you’ll do :
- Initiate and manage the intake process.
- Lead the gathering, analysis, interpretation, and development of business requirements for assigned projects, ensuring they are met during each phase and at closure.
- Elicit, understand, and document business requirements, business rules, and processes for new projects.
- Document current and future process flows, gap analysis, and mapping documents.
- Partner with Configuration and Software Engineering to design and deploy integrated solutions that meet business needs.
- Answer team questions and remove requirement roadblocks to success.
- Develop and recommend alternative solutions by preparing and evaluating workflows.
- Develop use cases, test plans, test cases, define and document procedures and workflows, coordinate UAT, and provide user documentation, training, and post-implementation support.
- Drive adoption of the implemented solution with operations.
- Conduct analysis, coordination, and some project management for various business initiatives and special projects.
- Use industry-standard techniques, including process maps, data flow diagrams, requirements specifications, use case scenarios, quality assurance, and acceptance testing.
- Develop and maintain reports for closed, active, and upcoming initiatives.

- Positively impact the Astrana Health team and client experience with implementation projects, measured by team-member engagement, post-integration surveys, and 360-degree feedback.
- Continuously improve intake, toolkits, reporting, systems, and processes, measured by iterations of specific tools (intake analysis, project dashboards, requirement documents, process flows), processes (meetings, minutes, feedback gathering), and systems (knowledge sharing, project analysis, communication).

Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years’ experience as an Analyst in PMO, Healthcare operations, or related fields
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Problem solving skill; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions, recommend solutions and devise appropriate courses of action
- Strong reasoning, with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Project Management Tools
