Principal Function :

The Purchasing Coordinator will coordinate purchasing for the 1883 Provision Co. culinary team. Partner with department Receivers to ensure all purchases are accurate and delivered on time.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Ensure delivered product coming into the stadium dock is accurate.
• Unloads product from delivery trucks using a pallet jack.
• Distributes product to appropriate coolers or dry goods locations.
• Rotates stock while maintaining inventory.
• Monitors for the best price / value for products such as : High value fish, meat, poultry, specialties, dairy, fruit, produce and basic supplies.
• Create and monitor reports with variable year and seasonality prices input in order to create the most cost-effective high-end menus together with operations.
• Monitor and resolve supplier performance and business issues that may occur to ensure food safety compliance, HACCP regulations and FDA regulations.
• Prepares purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
• Tracks purchasing activity and discusses defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
• Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.

Qualifications / Skills :

• Minimum 1 year of food and beverage purchaser experience within a complex, multi-faceted operation such as a large-scale hotel, high quality convention center, etc. desired.
• Ability to unload deliveries using a pallet jack and distribute to assigned locations within the stadium.
• Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and be available as business demands require.
• Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
• Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards.
• Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks / projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Other Requirements :

Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight;

must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment, and stand for long periods of time.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
