Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and collaborative leader with a strong financial administration foundation to join our dynamic biotechnology company as Vice President, Corporate Finance.
The Vice President, Corporate Finance will lead, direct and plan activities of the corporate finance department to provide meaning and timely information to the executive leadership to support them in corporate decision making.
Reporting to the EVP & Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President will work closely with the other leaders within the Finance department and across the organization.
Essential Functions
Support broad range of corporate and business development transactions to advance the business strategy of the company. Finance lead on transaction evaluations and execution.
Capital Markets and Banking. Maintain relationships with investment and commercial banks to facilitate access to capital markets.
Lead evaluation of capital structure alternatives to advance shareholder value.
Investment Management. Manage the corporate investment portfolio, related policies and the designated investment advisory firm.
Risk and Insurance Management. Oversight of global risk management activities including the ongoing procurement of corporate insurance and maintenance of the corporate business continuity plan.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven financial leadership experience, preferably with a publicly listed biopharmaceutical, high-growth company. A record of accomplishment, including demonstrated vision, strategic and financial management skills and a record of success in having helped to build / transform a high growth company.
Entrepreneurial, self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills, high ethical standards and proven ability to work effectively with a CFO and executive leadership as a strategic partner.
Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Strong business acumen combined with unquestionable integrity, dependability, ethics and financial skills. This person must have a penchant for delivering the highest quality output with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation to a variety of constituencies including shareholders, strategic partners, the Board of Directors and management and employees.
Business and product development leadership skills with strong commercial acumen to transition the company further from a development stage organization to a products driven enterprise.
Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications
BA or BS degree in Finance, CPA or Business
MBA in Finance preferred
Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and work successfully with varied audiences.
At least fifteen (15) years of experience providing overall financial leadership in a progressive organization is required.
Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills as well as aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, strategic planning and evaluation, financial analysis, and staff development
