Work at the most complex mass transportation system in the world and be a key contributor as senior cost estimator.
- Provide Cost Estimating Engineering Services to the Principal Estimator of C&D Stations.
- Responsible for the development and preparation of Capital Project Cost Estimates for the Capital Program, and various miscellaneous in-house design projects during the planning and design phases of the project.
- Prepare, maintain, modify and revise cost estimates for any and / or all deliverable aspects of the project including but not limited to studies, conceptual design options, preliminary design, final design, prepare and negotiate estimates for Additional / Credit Change Orders in construction and contractor construction bid packages deemed necessary by MTA C&D Stations BU for the overall budget management of the project.
- Cost estimates shall be prepared in a spreadsheet format in accordance with procedures and policies.
- Cost estimates shall be prepared, itemized, rolled up and summarized in a spreadsheet format using a Work Breakdown Structure.
Qualifications Requirements :
Cost Estimator with a Baccalaureate or Master degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, business administration and / or a combination of education and proven experience in Engineering & Construction with demonstrated Cost Estimating background in the following disciplines : Architectural / Civil / Structural / Conveying Systems.
Experience Requirements :
- Cost estimating experience with multi-million-dollar projects m mass transit and / or heavy rail industry is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Construction Cost Estimator in : Architectural / Civil I Structural / Conveying Systems (Elevators / Escalators) Disciplines with demonstrated background in Subsurface construction, tunneling, Cut and Cover Construction, Mining Operations, Underpinning and Structural Support technologies, De Watering, Concrete and Structural Steel Construction, utility work, conveying systems as well as architectural finishes and prefab items.
- Excellent negotiating Skills, Microsoft Excel, Word and other Computer Applications.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art capital cost estimating techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications related to capital project cost estimating.
- Knowledge of MTA C&D capital program policies related to design / construction management and program administration is preferred.
- Knowledge of MTA C&D's operations and facilities is preferred.
Normal Work Week : Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm
Work Location :
Based out of 2 Broadway, NY office but requires up to 80% field offices travel as needed.
