Estimator / Project Manager - Construction with Heavy civil experience - Full-time

Salary and other compensations commensurate upon experience

We are growing at an impressive pace and hiring for immediate placement an experienced hands on Heavy Civil Estimator who could be able to communicate with Developers and builders and also can help the operation team while working at our main office in Denton TX.

This position requires the ability to research, analyze and work on multiple projects at one time and diligently work from an inbox stream and loop into team.

Responsible for answering inquires and creating new bids for clients. Our work area is generally within a 75-mile radius of the office.

This position will require little-to-no overnight travel. We’re also flexible to work with your hours if you’re applying for part-time position.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities Estimator / Project Manager :

  • Estimate, Take-off bill of materials and labor required to perform jobs and projects including developing the scope of work and scheduling for crews
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
  • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Walk all units on project weekly to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
  • Valuate and analyze plans and specifications to provide accurate takeoffs.
  • Prepare cost estimates for small and large-scale jobs.
  • Complete job estimates by using specialized estimation software
  • Analyze plan documents and other data to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
  • Estimate and take off project costs, provide drawings and documentation, and assist operation team as required.
  • Liaise between production, contractors, architects and sales team to ensure successful turnover of orders and construction / production schedules are aligned
  • Maintain communication with the manager regarding progress, delays, etc.
  • Monitor job specifications and jobsites and ensure quality final product.
  • Assures job progresses according to plan.

Secondary Functions (Estimator) :

  • Take-off quantities and all materials for Jobs based on Plans and Specs
  • Assist in estimating, budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
  • Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
  • Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site.
  • Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope and coordinate with operation for submitting change orders.
  • Preside at pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor.
  • Assist in hiring jobsite workers and crews.

Requirements :

  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to read and take-off all blueprints and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be very organized
  • Must be self motivated
  • Computer skills including MS Office Products / Adobe Acrobat / Bluebeam / Other Take-off Software.
  • Able to pass a drug and background check.
  • Verifiable references.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
