Alta Science and Engineering, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a Hydrogeologist Project Manager with experience in managing water resources projects.

The position will be based in any of our offices (Boise, Kellogg, Moscow, or Spokane, WA) . The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, personable, and detail-oriented individual who can work well on a team and independently, in a fast-paced environment.

This is a Regular Full-Time (40 hrs / wk) benefited position.

Responsibilities :

  • Apply professional and technical experience to support and / or oversee hydrogeology and water resources projects.
  • Provide support in the development and review of technical documents associated with CERCLA and State-led site investigation remedial action plan processes (including but not limited to risk assessments, remedial investigation / feasibility studies, data summary reports, workplans, etc.).
  • Interpret hydrogeologic and environmental data.
  • Provide technical support and oversight of water resources projects including planning, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including state, federal, and tribal agencies to ensure that project objectives and timelines are being met.
  • Develop project scopes of work, task orders, and cost estimates. Manage project schedules, budgets, technical teams, and subcontractors.
  • Support marketing and business development in water resources.
  • Mentoring junior staff with the potential to supervise others.
  • Foster client relationships and embody company culture.

Minimum qualifications of successful applicant :

  • BS in geology, hydrology, or environmental science from an accredited university with classes in hydrogeology; MS preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with managing complex projects and interpreting hydrogeologic and environmental data
  • Experience developing and / or providing technical review of site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and other technical reports.
  • Experience with CERCLA and related federal and state regulations and guidance
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong scientific / technical capabilities, along with organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with strong client relationships and business development
  • Ability to travel periodically for site visits and meetings
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
