EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of Operations experience, preferably directly related supervisory job experience in an Operations environment.
Two years of custodial and / or janitorial experience is preferred. Knowledge of current labor contracts and experience dealing with union representatives is desired.
SUMMARY
Supervises the activities of Rail Car Cleaners in the cleaning and inspection of the Authority’s revenue rail car fleet to ensure cars are cleaned satisfactorily according to prescribed standards.
Schedules when cars are to be serviced and coordinates service with the Rail Yard Tower Supervisor and Rail Maintenance Supervisor to ensure trains are cleaned efficiently.
Prepares work orders, monitors inventory levels, and orders supplies to ensure materials and resources are on hand when needed.
Provides a safe work environment for employees, enforces the labor contract, and takes disciplinary action as needed. Ensures personnel are familiar with work rules and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITES
Supervises the activities of Rail Car Cleaners in cleaning and inspecting the Authority’s revenue rail car fleet to ensure cars are cleaned according to standard.
Frequently provides direct technical assistance.
- Plans and schedules cars to be serviced daily.
- Coordinates with the Rail Yard Tower Supervisor and Rail Maintenance Supervisor to ensure trains are cleaned in a timely and efficient manner before they are released for service.
- Prepares work orders, monitors inventory levels, and orders supplies to ensure that enough materials and resources are on hand to complete work efficiently.
- Provides a safe work environment for employees by ensuring the garage workplace is maintained in a high state of order and cleanliness and that equipment usage complies with safety policies and procedures.
- Enforces the labor contract and takes disciplinary action as needed. Ensures personnel are familiar with work rules and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Rail Car Cleaners in the cleaning and inspecting of the Authority’s revenue rail car fleet. Coach personnel on proper performance of work, frequently providing direct technical assistance.
Plans, monitors, evaluates, and develops employee performance to maximize employee potential while maintaining a high-performance environment.
Prepares and administers time and attendance records for assigned personnel.
