The USACE NWO mission is to deliver vital engineering solutions, in collaboration with partners, to secure the nation, energize the economy, and reduce disaster risks by focusing on a diverse array of missions, including flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, environmental restoration, and regulatory oversight.

Seeking Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist candidates with relevant Environmental Management Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Environmental Management Sector Clients such as USACE.

This as a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position and ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position.

JOB OVERVIEW Provide services and support as a Environmental Remediation Services (ERS) (Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist) in the Environmental Management Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as Department of Defense (DoD - USACE) U.

S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, Omaha District (USACE NWO) Area of Responsibility (AOR) Generally Located In CONUS - Ten (10) States : Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming and across the Mid West Region.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist Environmental Management USACE025030 Manage hazardous materials and waste;

ensure compliance with regulations; oversee waste disposal processes. The Hazardous Materials Waste Specialist shall be responsible for the management of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.

The Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist should have appropriate education and experience in HAZMAT and HAZWASTE management services to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

The Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist is responsible to ensure compliance with the requirements identified in the PWS and the HAZWASTE management plan.

Qualifications Desired Qualifications For Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist Environmental Management USACE025030 (USACE025030) Candidates : Expertise in hazardous materials management;

knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA). The Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist shall demonstrate the following qualifications to be deemed acceptable : As a minimum, the Hazardous Materials / Waste Specialist shall possess a bachelor’s degree in an environmental, physical, or natural science or in engineering and three (3) years specialized experience in the management of hazardous materials / waste.

To perform under a task order, he / she must possess a current Certified Hazardous Materials Manager certification and / or a Hazardous Waste Manifest / DOT certification, copies of which should be provided with the proposal.

Both RCRA and CERCLA are critical environmental laws in the United States, focusing on the management of hazardous waste and the cleanup of contaminated sites, respectively.

They are key components of the regulatory framework that ensures environmental protection and public health safety. RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) : RCRA is a United States federal law enacted in 1976 that governs the disposal of solid and hazardous waste.

Its primary goals are to protect human health and the environment from the potential hazards of waste disposal, to conserve energy and natural resources, and to reduce the amount of waste generated.

RCRA gives the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the authority to control hazardous waste from its generation to its disposal, often referred to as "cradle-to-grave" management.

CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) : CERCLA, commonly known as Superfund, is a U.

S. federal law enacted in 1980 designed to address the cleanup of sites contaminated with hazardous substances and pollutants.

CERCLA authorizes the federal government to respond directly to releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances that may endanger public health or the environment.

It also establishes a trust fund to finance cleanups when responsible parties cannot be identified or are unable to pay for the cleanup costs.

Additionally, CERCLA imposes liability on parties responsible for the contamination, requiring them to clean up the sites or reimburse the government for cleanup efforts.

Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications 5+ years in hazardous materials management; certifications such as HAZWOPER required.

Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Chemistry. Skills Required Skills Required : Hazardous materials handling, regulatory compliance, safety procedures, problem-solving.

Professional Licensure : HAZWOPER, other relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Hazardous Materials Manager). Competencies Required Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program).

Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe) Ancillary Details Of The Roles Permits / Licenses : Team ProSidian shall obtain permits and licenses necessary to conduct the work required by this contract, including, but not limited to, environmental permits, building permits, discharge permits, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or state licenses for radiation activities, and Department of Transportation (DOT) permits for transport of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) and Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) on public highways.

Team ProSidian shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including Technical Bulletin TB 700-2, Department Of Defense Ammunition And Explosives Hazard Classification Procedures, when transporting MEC.

Rights of entry on and off Government property may be required. - Standard Skills Required : Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
