Freese and Nichols is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Infrastructure Management Consulting group in Fort Worth, TX. The GIS Analyst is responsible for :
- Ensuring end user adoption for GIS technologies, including tasks such as data collection and development, data QA / QC, general analysis / map production and training users on GIS software.
- Perform GIS analytical and geo-processing functions including input, editing, manipulation, management, analysis and output of spatial and tabular data sets using ArcGIS or other GIS software.
- Develop vector spatial analysis models using ModelBuilder, Python, or other GIS scripting languages.
- Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals.
- Prepare written documentation describing methodologies / procedures and prepare exhibits.
- Maintain GIS data and cataloging system.
- Work with users to understand and produce special purpose maps.
- Maintain and enhance geospatial data for projects.
- Obtain data from a variety of non-GIS sources and incorporate that data into a GIS project.
- Possess the ability to work in a group or independently.
- Work with a group to complete projects on time.
- Problem solve when GIS support is unavailable.
- Make estimates of skills and time required to complete projects.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or related field.
- In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years of experience or an Associate's degree and 2 years of experience. Master's degree counts as 1 year of experience.
