Position Summary
The Director, Multilingual Learner Services manages the portfolio of Ensemble Learning programming work related to dual language, bilingualism, and biliteracy.
Reporting to the VP of Programs, the Director, Multilingual Learner Services will lead the implementation of Ensemble’s portfolio of dual language and biliteracy programming at the system and campus levels and ensure all practices and products are aligned to the Ensemble standard of excellence.
This role will manage a team including specialists and instructional coaches as well as provide direct client services such as delivering professional learning sessions, coaching educators at all levels in relevant roles, and performing walkthroughs at schools to provide programmatic feedback.
Compensation : $105,000 to $120,000 per year; Salary commensurate with experience + generous benefits
Location : Hybrid Texas Based; Candidate will work from their home office in Texas with up to 60% overnight travel outside of the home region
Time Frame for Hire : The desired start date for this position will be January 2025
Candidate Profile
The Director, Multilingual Learner Services should have proven project management, instructional leadership, dual language leadership, teaching, coaching and relationship management experience.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience as a school or district leader, including managing direct reports
- Experience teaching and / or leading in a dual language school
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively
- Deep knowledge of effective instruction and assessment for multilingual learners
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to engage adults in professional learning
- Knowledge of school funding sources (Title I, II, III, etc.)
Preferred Experience & Qualification
- Advanced degree in a related field (Doctorate strongly preferred)
- Willingness to support schools across the nation
- Experience working across both traditional public schools and public charter schools
Critical Professional Capabilities
Manage Partner Relationships and Portfolio of Biliteracy Projects
- Initiate and launch projects with partners, diagnosing needs, recommending services, clarifying goals and suggesting tools for collaboration
- Maintain partner relationships and secure renewals
- Review client feedback feedback data, share with project managers, and continually improve work
- Develop new program offerings based on the needs of partners
- Participate in cross-functional activities on an as-needed basis such as contributing to marketing materials about biliteracy or providing internal content training
Deliver Direct Partner Programming
- Provide instructional and leadership coaching, plan and deliver professional learning, and complete school walkthroughs
- Collaborate with direct reports and colleagues to ensure all work is at the Ensemble Learning standard of excellence
Manage Internal Biliteracy Team
- Manage (4-6) instructional coaches and specialists to adequately staff projects and ensure successful project completion
- Maintain quality of implementation and programming across team members
- Manage professional learning for your team to ensure continual learning and growth including providing feedback and performance reviews
- Lead biliteracy team meetings, contribute to program team meetings, and collaborate with the VP of Programing to ensure alignment across teams

About the Organization
Ensemble Learning is a non-profit organization that provides professional learning, leadership coaching, instructional coaching, and strategic planning support to schools and districts across the nation focused on creating a better learning experience for ML students.
We have a strong lens towards equity which includes addressing both instructional needs and school / classroom culture. Ensemble Learning has eleven employees.
Ensemble Learning has been in operation since 2016. During that time, we have served nearly 200 schools and districts across the nation reaching over 100,000 students and have earned 2 multi-million dollar US Department of Education federal contracts to support teachers and school leaders to transform their instruction and improve school and classroom culture.
Currently, Ensemble Learning works with traditional public school districts, public charter schools and charter management organizations, and like-minded nonprofit organizations across the country, with most work in California, Texas, and Colorado.
